Summer Bummer Saturday

What does Cabbage and hot sauce have in common? Well absolutely nothing…but I was having a hard time
figuring out a way to start the story (very late mind you) for the romp with the nudies at the Summer Bummer
Saturday event. Sometimes just starting to type helps get my mind going……. Ha, romp with the nudies..that is
funny!

This years event found the trace (three) amigos all lined up to ride together in Gus, Dean-o-Bravo and myself along
with newish recruit Smoothie Schomberg. Man this was going to be a good time for sure. Feeling a bit saucy we
decided to throw all caution to the wind and travel the fat road thru Shy-Town. As it turned out we were able to zip
thru the mess that those crazy FIB’s call home and even improved our fuel mileage on the trip down. How did we do
that…we’ll simply by lightening our wallets by $742.03 worth of toll money spent…geezz come on guys.. enough
with the tolls already! Landing at the beautiful Aurora Sun Resort we quickly found a nice parking spot to set up the
Team P&G/Moose/Powermadd/Protect/Polisport/MP Powersports/Endruo Pilot race rig. Whopper Jr (the artist
formerly know as Bobby Kau JR) and Bob “my kid is a Harescramble rider” Kau were south bound and wanted to
park by us as well so we saved them a spot. With plans to have a block party that eve it would be nice to be parked
together….my good buddy Jeff Freddette had saved us spots but we did not see him in time and jacked him by not
taking advantage of his staked out area (sorry buddy…we really do appreciate it!).

All settled in we eased on up to sign up. Smoothie, the tactical/operations manager for P&G
Offroad/Moose/Powermadd/Protect/Polisport/MP Powersports/Endruo Pilot’s team had us all signed up already so
the hot row assignments were all ready to go for us! Today’s trail menu included 5 laps on a closed course, this
course would prove to be a nice mixture of tight flowing trails, tight trails, naked people, some mud holes, a stuck
GQ Burquist, some more nudies and a couple of logs. All in all good trail. Thanks to the club for all the hard work!

The day was fun and all parties got their monies worth that is for sure. Gus and I would battle back and forth with
Dean in his wisdom sitting back and using his locomotive style of riding (he just keeps going and going) watching it
all. Whopper JR is getting fast…too fast. Soon we will not let him ride with us as we cannot damage our fragile ego’s
(no just kidding but he is getting fast). Smoothie on the other hand is learning first hand that the speed at which you
ride is equal to the amount of time you have to spend on prepping your bike. He lost his brakes on the second lap
and helped in the pits. Scores below for all the guilty parties:

Name Class Class Place Scores final points

Pete AA 9th 0 0 0 0 2 0 2 0 3 0 16 23

So that was the short of the short and the way that it played out score wise. The big news of the day was our buddy
Ryan Mossy Oak snagging the Grand Champion award and showing everybody that he still hauls the mail!
Congrats little buddy, next stop 2 beer town for you! Another overall winner award goes to Swiss Family
Robinson…he drank the most beer, looked at the most Bares and just narrowly beat out Bob Kau for the overall in
that dept. Nice work mister!

The racing all done it was time gather around the Team P&G/Moose Racing /Powermadd/Protect/Polisport/MP
Powersports/Endruo Pilot’s rig for our Block party. If you have not been to one you should hit the next one. We
have these get together’s at two day events where everybody brings a dish to pass and eats way to much food. It is
truly what riding a dirtbike embodies to me. Good times and good friends!

So with that, this Team P&G/Moose Racing/Powermadd/Protect/Polisport/MP Powersports/Endruo Pilot’s rider is
going to sign off. Hope you picked up on the subtle sponsor plugs!

Here’s dirt in your eyes,

Speedy Pete
