I will be the first to admit there are very few things in this world that I am truly impressed with. Now for me to be impressed it doesn't take loads of technology or buku bucks. For me to be impressed it takes something that really works and is a great value. The ProTaper Pillow Top grips fit in this category. I put this set of grips on my bike at the beginning of the year. They have approximately 15 races on them and equally as much practice time. These things work and they hold up great. The dimples or pillows that protrude from the grips act as individual vibration dampeners. Now the grips alone are not going to make up for set of front forks that are not valved correctly as I found out at the Duquette National enduro when my hands continued to fall asleep but when used in combination with another aftermarket solution such as the new Moose Racing Sub Tank handle bars you have a combo that will keep your hands awake and un-numb. (See the Moose Racing Sub Tank Handle Bar product review for more details) Not only do these grips help to reduce vibration they hold up like no other. See the below picture. I have yet to have a set of grips that have lasted an entire year. These grips are starting to show some wear and will be updated prior to next year, but for a full year of racing these grips are looking pretty good. I also was skeptical when I first got these grips that they may be too fat as I like skinny grips, but I was impressed, they are very ergonomic and contour nicely to your hands. The other noticable feature is their ability to shed mud. We had a couple of muddy races this year and I had numerous times that I fell down and covered my grips in mud, but they never got slimy slippery. The pillow tops were like the treads on a pair of BFG mudders to allow for total gription on the bars. Now there are more grips on the market than Baskin Robins has flavors and everyone likes a different flavor, but I would rate these as a must have.

My 2 Cents
