As we pulled into the pits on Saturday afternoon I realized I had forgotten just how nice the facility is for the Blue Hills
Enduro.  The pit area is large mowed grassy area with nice lake and small beach nearby, but it doesn’t stop there, they a
have beautiful club house that was used for sign up and serve a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning.  Just ask Dean
how good the sausage is, he will tell you that it tastes better the first time.

After we got our spot set up I headed out to watch the kids race with Gregg Moss, Scotty Hoffman, and Tony Robinson.
They had a very nice course set up with different length for the Micros and Macros.  The first race was the micro race
(50cc).  Alex Moss was on the first line to head out and race.  He was all geared up with a set of Moose Racing gear and
ready to do battle with the rest of the 50cc pilots.  At the end of the race all the kids had smiles on their faces and ready to
collect their trophies.

Later in the afternoon Ken, Rich, and Jared showed up in the little van that could (the blue steak, minus the streak).  They
brought rumors that the Bob Kau race team was close in tow with Bob Sr. planning on running the chase vehicle for the rest
of us.  As the blue streak race team unloaded their trusty race stead’s they professionally parked them under their
monstrous easy up.  The rest of the race teams were shadowed by its enormity.  We all got signed up and ran our bikes
through the sound inspection on Saturday night.  Ryan Moss, Scott (AA) Hoffman, and Tony Robinson were on minute 20.
Brian (Dean) Breci, myself, Bobby Kau, Garret were on minute 24.  The Blue Streak race team compiled of Ken (SSK)
Schuck, Rich (Cat’s got nothing on John Deere) Brerton, and Jared (Giving up Football for dirtbiking) Brerton were on
minute 25.  Pete (lead us into the check hot) Laubmeier, John Strangfeld, and Heath (carring the picnic basket) Heck were
on minute 26.

The next morning had most people waking up in the pits with multiple creative ways of silencing a barking dog.  The forecast
for the day was calling for 30% chance of rain but not until the afternoon.  The sky’s to west were ominous and had
everyone hoping the rains would hold off.  Key time was 9:00 am and everyone got ready and headed off to the start area.
The first reset was at 3.8 miles so people were wondering what was in store for the first section.  I was a pretty gnarly
section and most had pretty bad arm pump by the first reset.  There was no check in the first section and everyone was
glad because it seemed the mileage was off, but no one thought twice about it (except Ryan Moss) and headed into the
second section.  The second section had a hot check that most zeroed and then it was off to the races.  It was more gnarly
terrain so most thought there is no way they would be on time so very few paid attention to the corner markers (except Moss
and Hoffman).  Turns out the mileage was off again causing most to burn the out check.  After the first gas we headed into
another woods section.  I didn’t realize my head light was on until the dark clouds rolled in and caused the woods to getter
darker than Toby’s you know what and I could see it shining off the rocks in front of me.  Pete said “It was so dark I thought
my transition goggles were not adjusting” Wrong, it was that dark.  You know what comes after dark clouds, that’s right,
rain.  It down poured for about 20 minutes, enough to make a mess out of everything.  After the rain ceased the sun
decided to come out and make it nice and hot and sticky.  By the time we got to the C cut out there were a lot of people
feeling the effects of the heat.  Speedy had hit the wall and was looking pretty rough.  Dean decided to find a sharp rock
and let the air out of his front tire ending his day.  The last section was pretty tough.  It was like trying to sew a button on
your pants with pencil instead of a needle.  Not that I’ve tried but I can imagine it would be pretty tough.  By the end of the
day I didn’t hear to many people asking to go out and ride another 10 miles but by the time scores were posted most people
were re-energized and talking about how well the course was set up.  It was too bad the mileage was off but I didn’t hear
anyone complaining at the end.

Unofficial top 5 for the day include:
Craig Holsak – 4pts
Ryan Moss – 6pts
Todd Mathwig – 8pts
Scott Hoffman – 8pts (Overall A)
Paul Schreimer – 11pts

I would especially like to thank Bob Kau and Gregg Moss for all of their help running the chase vehicles for all of us as on a
hot race day like this their assistance is priceless.

Thank you
